About: Grand Junction Medical Symposium | Medical Development Organization
Identified as a need by the Mesa County Physicians IPA, the Grand Junction Medical Symposium, Inc. (GJMS) was structured solely to offer educational training for medical offices. These offices often struggle to provide quality, affordable educational opportunities for their staff, many of whom require education credits to maintain their certifications.
The goals of the Grand Junction Medical Symposium, Inc. are to offer local, low-cost education to those involved in medical and related fields; to be a resource to medical practices; and, to stay abreast of the ever changing requirements of health care.
The educational opportunities can be in the form of a full day event with a variety of classes offered by qualified presenters and speakers, or, it can be a simple Lunch and Learn where just one topic is covered. Another option may be to tag onto webinars hosted by national companies.
In order to cover the costs associated with speakers, facility, food and supplies a nominal fee may be charged to the attendees. In addition, vendors and sponsors may be solicited to help cover the costs of the full day event. All monies generated are used to pay for expenses associated with the education event. The goal of GJMS is to continually increase the level of expertise offered by scheduling local experts and nationally recognized consultants as much as possible. Whenever possible, sanctioned continuing education credits are offered. In addition to the education itself, the events offer a networking opportunity for the attendees and exposure to various vendor services and offerings. Vendors and sponsors benefit by having a large contact base with the ability to interact with the attendees and speakers.
The Grand Junction Medical Symposium Inc. has a five member Board of Directors. The education events are planned and hosted by the Medical Development Organization which is a committee of office managers and administrators in Mesa County.
